Danielle, some of these issues were not addressed by Mary Shelley like cloning, abortion, and christians v. muslims. But the other ones are good topics. I think Victor may have changed his opinion on subjects like abandonment and intolerence as they are more closely related to him. Also, see Maslow's hierarchy of needs for some other good social conditions.

Abortion most definitely was addressed! The destruction of the female Creature as a companion for the original Creature can be seen as an example of abortion: part of the way through the developmental process, Victor destroyed his work...he aborted the creation of life....an abortion...

Cloning sort of was...its more of a "creation of life unnaturally" sorta thing.

Christian vs. Muslims was addressed rather clearly, though it applies more to general racial conflicts. Felix falling in love with the Arab lady shows that, despite the differences of their peoples, they could still fall in love and be together, that humans are all the same and race is just an excuse people use to hide their refusal to see that all humans are all the same.

Dang, you're right Kunal. I never even thought about that. My bad Danielle, lol. Still, you should look at some of Maslow's hierarchy of needs. I based my entire essay of that thing. Here's the web page; http://www.pateo.com/images/maslowmaster4ts.gif

Hello Danielle, and everyone esle.
i am deep DHOTHER for those who dont know me. so i finally figured out a way to tap into the 2nd period blog, i feel proud. anyways i have areadly written these essays so i have decided to help out. one great point that i found, and i would like to share with you all, is that Mary Shelley also discussed the concept of emigration. what i mean is that if you really think about it, when an emigrant emigrates, (S)he has to face many different types of problems, ie the monster, but as more and more generations of that same emigrant develop upon one land, they seem to mix with the natives of that land, and i think the Mary Shelley feared that because she had victor have an idea of, if the monster's counterpart was made they would reproduce, thus the expansion of first, second and so on generation of the same race. now i think i have said enough. i just thought that that was interesting. and also, hats off to your brain Danielle for thinking about the topic of Christians Vs. Muslims. that was great, atleast i never thought of it that way.

Victor doesn't really have a position on that...or at least none that I can see. He is never involved in such a relationship for us to figure out his views.
